FURIA knock MOUZ out of StarSeries Fall in three maps

FURIA eliminated MOUZ from StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026 with a 2-1 lower-bracket win on September 19. They won Cache 13-8, lost Mirage 16-19 in double overtime, and answered with a 13-6 victory on Nuke. KSCERATO led the series with 66 kills and a 1.44 rating, making the decider far more one-sided than the previous map.

The result ended MOUZ’s recovery from an opening upset against NRG. MOUZ had stayed alive by reversing a deficit against NAVI, but FURIA stopped them before the event’s final four. The two teams exchanged long runs on every map; the crucial one came after Nuke’s even first half, when FURIA won all seven remaining rounds on defense.

The veto put FURIA on Cache first, MOUZ on Mirage second and Nuke in reserve. FURIA removed Inferno, while MOUZ removed Anubis. Those choices produced a series in which both teams found early leads, but only one could sustain control after the sides switched. The first two maps gave each side a point; the third gave FURIA a place in the lower-bracket final.

MOUZ’s path into the match had already been uneven. The NRG loss put them under elimination pressure, and their win over NAVI kept the tournament alive. FURIA also had no room for another defeat. That setting made the shifts within Cache and Mirage consequential: one recovery kept a map from slipping away, while another forced a deciding game.

Cache and Mirage trade momentum before Nuke

MOUZ started FURIA’s Cache pick with a 4-0 lead on defense. FURIA took the next seven rounds and reached halftime ahead 7-5, then extended the score to 10-5 after the switch. MOUZ collected only three attacking rounds on the map. FURIA completed the 13-8 opener with KSCERATO posting a 1.51 rating, turning the initial deficit into a comfortable map win.

Mirage gave MOUZ a much stronger answer. They took the first three rounds of their own pick, yet again trailed 5-7 at the interval and then fell behind 5-10. This time their comeback held: five consecutive rounds closed the gap, MOUZ later reached map point at 12-11, and xelex finished the map with 34 kills. FURIA pushed it into overtime, but MOUZ eventually won 19-16 in the second set of extra rounds.

Mirage mattered because it showed that MOUZ could survive a 10-5 deficit, rather than simply taking advantage of its own early rounds. xelex’s 34 kills and 1.51 map rating drove that recovery, and xertioN added 30 kills. Yet winning Mirage did not erase FURIA’s lead in overall production: KSCERATO had already anchored Cache and still had another decisive map to play.

Across the complete series, KSCERATO recorded 66 kills against 45 deaths and averaged 97.5 damage per round. molodoy contributed 51 kills and a 1.18 rating. MOUZ’s most productive full-series ratings were xertioN’s 1.00 and xelex’s 0.99. The gap between the sides therefore came from FURIA’s leading performance over the entire match, not just a single Mirage overtime result.

Seven straight defensive rounds close the series

FURIA opened Nuke with six consecutive attacking rounds. MOUZ matched that run exactly, leaving the map tied 6-6 at halftime. At that point the decider remained open: each team had shown a way to control a stretch of play. FURIA then won the next seven rounds on its CT side, so MOUZ never scored after the interval.

The 13-6 finish was abrupt after Mirage’s double overtime. KSCERATO added 18 kills on Nuke and a 1.57 map rating, again leading FURIA’s pressure. MOUZ went from a halftime tie to elimination without collecting a second-half round, despite having just won a long second map. The contrast between those final two maps is the clearest measure of where the series turned.

MOUZ’s final placement was fifth-sixth, with $10,000 listed for that bracket position. The NAVI victory had extended their stay after the NRG upset, but it did not carry them past FURIA. The four player lines below compare FURIA’s principal contributors with MOUZ’s two highest-rated players in the series.

FURIA advanced from this win to a lower-bracket final against MIBR later on September 19. They went on to win that match 2-0, which carried them into a consolidation-final meeting with Vitality. The MOUZ series was the longer test on that route, requiring a response after losing Mirage despite holding a late lead there.

For MOUZ, the lasting feature of the exit is the imbalance between its one-map recovery and its Nuke second half. Mirage showed it could still force a difficult opponent into overtime; Nuke showed how quickly that recovery could be undone. FURIA controlled the final seven rounds and left the tournament’s final four without MOUZ.
