Aurora beat Vitality 2-1 to reach StarSeries Fall final

Aurora reached the StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026 grand final with a 2-1 win over Vitality in Barcelona on September 19. They took Anubis 13-7, lost Inferno 11-13 and closed Nuke 13-8. The victory gave Aurora’s current lineup its first final in its fifth event together, while Vitality moved to the consolidation final.

The result was built on Aurora’s defensive halves. Vitality won no attacking rounds on Anubis, four on Inferno and two on Nuke, for six T-side rounds across the full series. That weakness was decisive even though Vitality recovered from a difficult first half on Inferno to level the match. Jimpphat topped Aurora’s series ratings and helped turn both of their map wins.

Aurora arrived after a 2-0 upper-bracket victory over NRG on September 18, winning Cache 13-7 and a longer Mirage 19-17. The meeting with Vitality was a sterner test of their new combination of kyxsan, Jimpphat and coach ash. Reaching a final by beating Vitality in an upper-bracket match was a concrete result for a roster still early in its time together.

The three maps did not follow a simple sweep of momentum. Aurora had to recover from an early deficit on Anubis, controlled much of Inferno before Vitality answered, and then saw Nuke tied at halftime. Each map exposed a different phase of the contest. The most consistent pattern was Vitality’s inability to convert enough rounds when it switched to attack.

Anubis recovery gives Aurora the opening map

Vitality opened Anubis by going ahead 5-1. Jimpphat’s one-versus-two clutch interrupted that start, and Aurora worked back into the half. Vitality still reached the break ahead 7-5 after collecting its final two defensive rounds, but its advantage disappeared immediately when the sides changed. Aurora won every second-half round and finished the map 13-7.

The eight-round closing run turned a competitive first half into a clear scoreline. Vitality did not register a single T-side round on Anubis, while Jimpphat posted a 2.48 rating on the CT side. A map that had begun with Aurora chasing a four-round deficit ended with Vitality unable to make any progress after the interval.

Inferno gave Vitality its one successful recovery. Aurora had only allowed four rounds in the first half, with Wicadia producing a four-kill defense at the B site. Vitality then found much better setups on its CT side, put together seven consecutive rounds and converted the map 13-11. That turnaround was enough to force a decider, though it depended on defense rather than a sustained improvement in attack.

Jimpphat ended the complete series with 53 kills, 34 deaths, 91.5 average damage per round and a 1.36 rating. Wicadia had 46 kills and a 1.21 rating; woxic added 50 kills and a 1.11 rating. Vitality’s strongest individual line belonged to ZywOo, whose 48 kills and 1.28 rating could not compensate for the team’s attacking totals across the three maps.

Nuke defense settles the decider

Neither side carried a halftime lead into the last map: Nuke stood at 6-6. Vitality won the pistol round after switching to attack, a chance to set the pace for the remainder of the map. Aurora’s force-buy response removed that advantage, and Vitality struggled to add rounds against the subsequent defense.

Vitality found one more T-side round through a double-smoke spray by ropz. Aurora took the map 13-8, leaving Vitality with only two attacking rounds on Nuke. That second-half gap was larger than the final score might suggest, because the teams had been level after the first twelve rounds. Aurora had survived Vitality’s Inferno comeback and then made the same defensive pressure count again.

The player totals underline that this was a team result rather than a single duel. Jimpphat led Aurora by rating, woxic recorded 50 kills, and Wicadia supplied both a key Inferno defense and 46 kills across the series. ZywOo’s output kept Vitality competitive individually, but the aggregate T-side figure remained six. The full-series lines for four central players are below.

Aurora advanced directly to the best-of-five title match. For a lineup competing in its fifth event with kyxsan, Jimpphat and ash, the final berth is a measurable step forward. The win over NRG put Aurora in position; taking two maps from Vitality completed the route through the upper bracket.

Vitality still had a path back through a consolidation-final match with FURIA, with a possible rematch awaiting the winner. Whatever followed on the final day, the upper-bracket result stood on its own: Aurora’s defensive rounds on Anubis and Nuke outweighed Vitality’s single-map comeback on Inferno.
